Thinking of Quitting Chiropractic? Read This First.
Aug 01, 2025
At Thrive, we work with chiropractors across the country and there's one thing we hear way too often:
“I’m ready to quit.”
Maybe you’ve felt it, too. The exhaustion. The pressure. The emotional toll of juggling patient care, running a business, managing a team, and trying to have a personal life.
But here’s the thing:
You’re not just a chiropractor. You were born for this.
You carry a gift for humanity that no one else does. Your calling is as unique as your fingerprint.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking about walking away, not from chiropractic, but from the overwhelm, this blog is for you. I’m sharing 4 real, practical mindset and strategy shifts to help you stop surviving and start thriving again.
1. Remember: Overwhelm Is a Season, Not Your Destiny
When we’re stressed, we can’t see clearly. Breathing becomes shallow, our body tightens, our vision narrows. We start making fear-based decisions.
And here's the golden rule:
Never make major decisions when you're in a state of stress.
Take a deep breath.
This moment isn’t forever.
I’ll never forget one of my early practice days—sweating through a hot summer spinal screening, doing everything right… and getting zero new patients. I packed up in tears, genuinely questioning if I should quit chiropractic.
But deep down, I knew I was called to this. I was born with chronic asthma that nearly took my life as a child. Chiropractic changed everything. That moment reminded me why I started—and quitting was never an option.
Burnout doesn’t mean you’re in the wrong profession. It means you need new tools and a different strategy.
2. Keep Your Purpose in Plain Sight
Your purpose is your fuel. And when things get hard, you’ll need fuel to keep going.
So don’t hide your goals in a Google Doc.
Post them where you can see them, every single day.
Print your goals. Pin them in your office. Let your team see them. Let you see them. Your mission, your “why,” needs to be visible and active in your environment. That’s what will push you forward when motivation runs dry.
And here's a tip I teach all my Thrive clients: Say no more often.
Highly successful people don’t say yes to everything. They say yes to what aligns with their mission and no to what doesn’t.
Especially for female chiropractors, this can be challenging. We’re often taught to sacrifice our ambition to fit a mold. But your life, your mission, and your motherhood don’t have to look like anyone else's. You’re allowed to define success on your terms.
3. Stop Scrolling, Start Leading
Let’s talk social media. You’re probably not burnt out because of patient care. You’re burnt out because of comparison.
Social media can be powerful for connecting and sharing. But unchecked, it becomes a rabbit hole of self-doubt.
That perfect couple? That thriving office? That luxurious vacation?
It’s a highlight reel, not the whole story.
One of my past associates, 24 years old, working her dream job—told me she had anxiety because “everyone else online was doing more.” I reminded her: competition is an illusion when you’re living in alignment.
Protect your mind. Use social media with intention. Build connection, not comparison.
4. Time Block Like Your Life Depends On It (Because It Does)
Overwhelm often isn’t about doing too much, it’s about not managing time with clarity.
I use a weekly planner and block out everything:
✅ Patient hours
✅ Coaching time
✅ Family time
✅ Personal development
✅ Even my “free time” is scheduled
Every Friday, I block the week ahead. This structure is what gives me freedom. If a patient shows up late and it cuts into the next block? I stick to the schedule. Because if I don’t protect my time, no one else will.
Want more balance in your life?
Want more peace?
Want to grow your practice without burning out?
Start by owning your calendar. Your future self will thank you.
Final Thought: Don’t Quit on a Bad Day
If you’re less than five years into practice, hear me loud and clear:
What you’re feeling right now is temporary.
You don’t need to quit chiropractic. You need mentorship. You need support. You need systems.
At Thrive Chiropractic Coaching, we help chiropractors like you go from surviving to thriving—by building purpose-driven, profitable, and fulfilling practices that align with your values.
You're not alone. You're not broken.
You're just one shift away from clarity.
